Sonnet of Chairman Mao
By Liu Xiaofeng
Shall I compare thee to the red, red sun?
Thou, the unique messiah of the people,
Who rose to power from a peasant’s son,
And took the Flag amid the Host purple.
Thou empower’d the mass in the dark days,
With thy perfect vision and powerful pen.
When the Party gave thee the final says,
Thy commands rid Red Army from foes’ den.
By satisfying the public’s sorest need
Thou led the revolution like wild fire
Enabling Communists’ cause to succeed
Regardless of the oppositions dire.
As people all exult in their victory,
They enshrine thee in the hall of glory.
